Mark started working out as a teenager – mostly to keep in shape for all the sports he was playing in at the time (football, soccer, volleyball, basketball and swimming to name a few!). Mark has a desire to improve himself mentally and physical each day – but prior to discovering CrossFit he was found that the “regular” gym grind was starting to lose its appeal. Mark started CrossFit in 2012 and quickly discovered a passion for the new exercise program in his life. CrossFit compliments Mark’s athletic background, competitive nature and desire to improve.
Mark has been a long-time member of Natural Strength CrossFit. He has recently joined on as one of our amazing coaches. He has an extensive knowledge about the sport side of CrossFit and always has great advice on how to "Game" a workout. His passion and experience are shown in his coaching style. As a coach, he strives to empower other members with confidence in their abilities.
Mark is a big fan of the outdoors. He loves to explore and enjoy the beauty that Kamloops the rest of BC has to offer. Mark is Red Seal Journeyman Machinist and hopes to complete his CrossFit Level 2 course in the near future!
Imogen is an Osteopathic Practitioner from the UK. She owns a small clinic with her husband and another TCSC coach Paul, treating chronic and acute injuries.
Imogen's fitness journey started when she was 5 years old. She started dancing with her father in couples dances such as Argentine tango, modern nice, blues, west coast swing etc. Imogen has been teaching various dances since she was a teenager. She continued dancing all the way through university where I studied to be an osteopathic practitioner. Dancing coupled with her studies in biomechanics perfectly. As a CrossFit coach, Imogen utilizes her skills to help students to find perfect form in motion. This helps to prevent injury and to helps get people those PR's (personal records) that they strive for!
Imogen started Crossfit in 2014 and has not looked back since! She loves to coach beginners and help them to realize that you can achieve anything in the gym with a bit of hard work and grit!
Nikki found CrossFit in 2014 when she moved back to Kamloops after being away on a teaching contract. She dabbled with bodybuilding and powerlifting for a few years, but fell in love with the community, compound movements, workout variety, and amazing coaching that a CrossFit gym offers.
Nikki is a TRU Education graduate and she has been teaching in High School and Elementary classrooms for ten years. Her passion for CrossFit has recently trickled into her classrooms as she has been teaching fitness sessions to her students for the past two years.
Nikki has a first degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and has coached martial arts classes in her past. She has also coached volleyball, rugby, and a ton of curriculum-based sports for physical education. She also enjoys spending time dirt-biking and golfing.
Nikki is always down for spontaneous, crazy workouts during open gym hours. She enjoys loud music, heavy lifting, and coffee. Nikki relies on her checklist of workout must-haves: fun people, quality reps, loud jams, sassy shirts, clever nicknames and tons of laughs!
Jayme has always loved sports. She has been a serious competitor in many different sports for her entire life, but she was starting to get bored with her regular fitness routine. CrossFit could not have come at a better time in her life. Jayme found CrossFit in 2013 and she has never looked back. She loves the variety, the skills, and most of all, the community. Jayme says she has met the most amazing people through CrossFit, whom she considers family. As a high school and elementary school teacher, she has had the opportunity to coach her two other favorite sports: basketball and soccer.
Naturally, as her confidence grew with CrossFit, Jayme wanted to take the leap into coaching. Though she considers coaching adults very fun, her passion is with the younger members of our gym. Jayme has always wanted to coach the little people in her life and teach them all about what their bodies can do while living a healthy lifestyle!
